After his battle with stage 4 lung cancer, my father, James Long, sadly recently passed away. He expressed to me and other family that what he wanted the most was a big 75th birthday blowout, with all of his friends and family attending, and he wanted my band to perform at his party. So in his honor, Oceans of Origin will be performing a couple of sets of music for everyone. My kids, Adrian and Alex, will be joining me for a few songs as well to pay tribute to one of his favorite bands, Pink Floyd. The venue is TBD in Sacramento, California. We are planning to start the gathering somewhere around 1 or 2 PM on Saturday, July 29th. His 75th birthday would've been July 27th. I figured this would be the most fitting way to celebrate my dad's life--with all of his family, friends, and close acquaintances getting together to share memories, laughs, and have a great time together. This event will be catered with food and beverage, and it is my hope to have some sort of video memorial put together for everyone to enjoy. Feel free to join if you are a family member, close friend, or even if you knew him for a short time. He has made such an impression on this world and everyone he has met along his eclectic and full life! It would be helpful to get some feedback on how many people can attend.
